Class Description

Dance and Parkinson's disease have a synergistic relationship. One opposing the other: while Parkinson's disease attempts to diminish your movement, dance rebels against it to inspire big fluid movements.

PWP Dance uses the creative powers of dance to enhance the exploration of different movement possibilities. This class combines easy to follow dance moves with catchy music, and will leave you sweating and singing along. Class participants will experience dance in its many forms, while in the process of stretching, strengthening, and facilitating coordination and balance.

This class will promote learning of body position, awareness, and alignment.

PWP Dance is appropriate for all fitness levels.

The pilot program is a weekly one hour class that runs for 10 weeks, starting at the end of September. Classes are led by a renowned dance instructor, Leah Wickes.
